01Consent is continuous

A lack of response, declined request, block, withdrawal, or change of mind means stop. Do not pressure, threaten, shame, manipulate, retaliate, or repeatedly contact someone. Interest in one Side, message, photo, meeting, or activity is not consent to another.

02Adults only

SideOf is for people 18 and older. Do not create or facilitate a minor's account, misstate age, contact someone you know or believe is underage, or post, request, sexualize, save, or distribute content involving a minor. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and child sexual abuse material (CSAM), is strictly prohibited. Report underage or child-safety concerns immediately through the in-app report controls or moderation@sideof.app.

03Authenticity

Use your own identity and current, representative content. Do not impersonate, catfish, operate deceptive accounts, misrepresent affiliation, manipulate verification, use stolen photos or videos, or coordinate fake engagement.

04No harassment, hate, or threats

Do not harass, stalk, threaten, bully, shame, discriminate, or encourage violence. Content attacking a person based on protected or vulnerable characteristics is prohibited. Debate does not excuse targeted abuse.

05Sexual content and intimate imagery

Explicit sexual images and videos are not allowed anywhere in the SideOf iOS or Android apps. Profiles, profile photos, prompts, discovery, events, and every other area other members can browse must stay non-explicit, in words and images, on every platform. The one exception is an optional explicit-photo gallery on the Private Side of SideOf's website, where and when SideOf makes it available. It is not available in states whose laws require age verification for this kind of material, judged by the city on your profile. To add photos to it, you must have stepped into Private and passed an age check that uses your ID and a selfie reviewed by a person; you can add up to six photos, and no videos, and each photo is reviewed before anyone can see it. To see another member's explicit photos, you must pass an age check, turn on explicit photos in your settings, and be given access by that member through a Private match or an accepted Private message request. Access expires, and ends if either of you blocks the other or your Private match ends. Explicit photos never appear in discovery, on a profile, or in the apps. Never share, threaten to share, request, create, or alter intimate imagery of a person without that person's consent. This includes real, digitally altered, or synthetic depictions. A valid intimate-image removal request is handled under the Safety and Contact policies and applicable law.

06Privacy and personal information

Do not expose another person's address, contact details, workplace, private messages, images, location, financial information, or account data without permission and lawful basis. Do not record or distribute an interaction where law or consent forbids it.

07No exploitation or dangerous conduct

Trafficking, extortion, financial manipulation, coercion, weapons threats, illegal sales, sexual exploitation, and encouragement of self-harm or dangerous acts are prohibited. SideOf may contact appropriate authorities when necessary to protect people or comply with law.

08No scams or commercial abuse

Do not solicit money, credentials, financial access, gift cards, investments, paid sexual services, deceptive promotions, political support, or unauthorized business opportunities. Do not spam, recruit, or redirect members to suspicious services.

09Outside events and offline conduct

Hosts and attendees must describe Outside events honestly, respect capacity and safety rules, and avoid deceptive locations or illegal activity. Serious off-platform conduct connected to SideOf may be considered when it creates a credible safety risk.

10Reports, blocks, and retaliation

Reporting and blocking are free. Do not misuse reporting to harass or silence someone, submit knowingly false evidence, evade a block, or retaliate against a reporter. Confidential report details may be limited to protect privacy and safety.

11Enforcement and appeals

SideOf does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior, and a person reviews every report made through SideOf's report tools within 24 hours of receiving it. SideOf may remove content, reduce visibility, restrict features, require verification, suspend, or terminate based on severity, pattern, evidence, context, and risk. When SideOf obtains actual knowledge of CSAM, it removes the material, preserves and reports it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or another competent authority as applicable law requires, and takes appropriate action against the responsible account. Other serious cases may be preserved or referred. You may appeal a decision about your account or content within 180 days by emailing support@sideof.app with "Account Appeal" in the subject line. A person reviews every appeal, but an appeal does not guarantee reversal. The Safety Center describes how SideOf handles reports and where to get help.
