SideOf

Account and data rights

Delete your SideOf account.

You can request deletion in the app or begin a verified request from the web after uninstalling.

In the app
Settings › Account › Delete account
Without the app
Email a deletion request

Start the request

If you can sign in, use the in-app deletion control. If you no longer have the app, email support@sideof.app from the address connected to the account with the subject “Account Deletion Request.” Do not send a password, verification code, identity document, payment-card number, or unnecessary sensitive information.

Verify safely

SideOf verifies that the requester controls the account before deleting personal information. If more information is needed, SideOf will provide a protected channel. A request sent from the web does not require creating a new account.

What deletion does

The verified workflow removes the profile from ordinary discovery, revokes active sessions, deletes primary account records and owned media, and requests deletion from relevant processors. What SideOf keeps afterwards is a closed list, set out in the Privacy Policy: payment, billing and tax records; records under a legal hold or a lawful preservation request; a one-way hash recording the deletion; reports you filed about other people, with your name removed; reports filed about you, with your account identified only by a one-way hash; the conversation preserved with a report, for the period stated for report copies; an internal administrative log of actions taken on the account; and product-usage counts identified only by a one-way hash. A deletion request can be delayed by up to 30 days while a safety review is completed, or for as long as a legal hold applies. Your conversations are deleted when the deletion completes; a conversation that ended earlier is deleted 90 days after it ended, as the Privacy Policy describes. Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule: the frequent copies within about 35 days, and a smaller daily copy within six months. If a backup ever has to be restored, deletions that had already completed are applied again before the service comes back, so a restore never brings a deleted account back.

Cancel billing separately

Deleting an account or uninstalling SideOf does not automatically cancel an Apple, Google Play, Stripe, or other provider subscription. Cancel through the billing channel used to purchase and keep the provider confirmation.
